Travelling to her homeland of St Kitts, Caribbean and Barbados in 2017. CC was able to meet relatives and the local Caribbean community, gathering stories and documentary photography along the way. Taking on a deeply personal journey to understand her West Indian heritage.

Carnival

This photo-series was taken in Nevis and St Kitts during Culturama festival. The photograph above was taken halfway through the 24 hour long carnival celebration - Jouvert. The streets of Charlestown overflowing with Soca melodies, rum and joy.

Following the local coconut man who at the age of 60 still climbs to the top of palm trees collecting coconuts to sell everyday.
